Module Activity — Brand Identity Self-Audit
Lesson 6 of 7 · 4 Mins
This lesson introduces the Brand Identity Self-Audit activity. Learners review their current brand touchpoints and identify what is consistent, unclear, missing, or weak.
Now it is time to complete your first activity: the Brand Identity Self-Audit.
The purpose of this activity is not to criticize your brand. The purpose is to understand where you are starting from.
Before you build a stronger brand identity, you need to know what currently exists, what is working, what is missing, and what needs to become more consistent.
Start by choosing the brand you will work on throughout this course. This can be your own business, a personal brand, a startup idea, a freelance service, a client project, or even a sample brand you create for practice.
Then collect examples of your current brand touchpoints. These may include your logo, Instagram page, Facebook page, WhatsApp poster, website, business card, flyer, packaging, proposal, invoice, presentation, or any other material your audience sees.
Next, review them carefully.
Ask yourself:
Do these materials look like they belong to the same business?
Are the colors consistent?
Are the fonts consistent?
Is the logo used properly?
Does the tone of voice feel the same?
Is the message clear?
Would a customer understand what this business does?
Does the brand feel professional?
Does the brand create the right impression?
As you complete the worksheet, be honest. You do not need to have everything figured out yet. This is only the starting point.
At the end of the activity, complete this sentence:
Right now, my brand identity feels blank because blank. By the end of this course, I want it to feel blank.
This sentence will help you define the transformation you want from the course.
Once you finish the self-audit, you will be ready for the next module, where we will look closely at the difference between a logo and a complete brand identity.
